The very purpose of spirituality is self-discipline. Rather than criticizing others, we should evaluate and criticize ourselves. Ask yourself, what am I doing about my anger, my attachment, my pride, my jealousy? These are the things we should check in our day to day lives.

In my translation of Bhagavad Gita, “yoga” is translated as “discipline”, which I’m reminded of as I came across the quote above.
This is an important issue to consider if you aim to increase your awareness, discipline and health. Sugar addiction is one very common form of upadana (sanskrit for clinging or attachment) in our society. Everyone should read, as we’re all addicts to some degree or another, unless you’ve already reached Nirvana, as it is the cessation of clinging, or upadana, that is said to lead you there.
